Since this website
was last updated, the Lake Yellingbo campsite was sold around Easter 2003, and
its operations moved to Philip Island at the Philip Island Adventure Resort, operated by Christian Youth Camps, CYC.
The Way of Life
camp operated the Lake Yellingbo site, but continued its operations under the name Impact Camps. Under
whose name was the Lake Yellingbo property sold? For what amount was it sold? How was the money from its sale allocated? Was it given to
CYC? Does it have some special arrangement with CYC? Why the secrecy? Why has there been no balance sheet issued in relation to the sale, The Way of Life’s
finances, how it is operating now etc etc ? In all of its more than 50 year history, no change for The Way of Life has been
more extensive than this one, and no clear public explanation or proclamation has been forthcoming, only silence! Why?
The solicitor for
The Way of Life knows of the existence of this website, and any answers he, or CYC or Impact Camps can give to any of the
above questions will be posted here to inform readers.
An Agreement was
made between myself and The Way of Life in June 2002, prior to the selling of the Lake Yellingo site, that involves The Way of Life paying me a sum of money toward camps that I operate known as
Kids of Gold camps. None of that money has ever been received since the sale
of Lake
Yellingbo
in fulfilment of the Agreement.
Half of the amount
was offered in the hope that it would be received, but no explanation was made as to why only half was offered. What creditor would accept a half-payment of a bill? I
want to make a point of emphasizing that whatever the monies were that were received for the Lake Yellingbo site, it would have been a considerable amount,
and that the amount owed to me under the Agreement is but a tiny amount by comparison.
I wish to also point
out that my wife and I laboured very long hours for many years on that site to
make it what it was, together with many others, and what has been requested in the Agreement is in itself tiny by comparison
to the labours we freely gave on that property. What we did, we did for the Lord,
but what we asked for in the Agreement was not for personal use for ourselves, but for the Kids of Gold camps, one of which
has just been completed in May 04.
I want to point
out that even the very house we lived in at Lake Yellingbo was given to us as a personal gift- a gift of $36,000 being made
to The Way of Life specifically so that a house be built just for myself and my young family, to enable us to leave the double-decker
bus we had been living in for 16 months, and come under a proper roof with good facilities.
This gift was made by a member of the Frankston assembly, who is to my knowledge still in that assembly today.
I want to also point
out that I have had to find out of my own resources $2,500 for the recent Kids of Gold camp to be fully paid for- money which
The Way of Life agreed to pay me but have not yet done so. I will also say that
I am working hard every day at the present time to pay off this money which I have had to borrow for this purpose, and will
invite gifts to be sent to help pay the existing shortfall. I will endeavour
to keep the website up to date, to advise of its presence, to report on payments received, with the aim of advising when we
are in a financial position to enable the setting of a new date for the next
Kids of Gold Camp to be made. Sponsors are being sought in Business circles,
so any desiring to give out forms to Business people are invited to request these.
Any answers received
to pertinent questions asked here by any of the responsible authorities listed will be posted on this site immediately they
are available.
Yours truly,
Gary Parsons.
